Why is Marketing important?

Because it allows for a relationship with the customer, the company must know what the customer really wants, not what the company thinks the customer needs. Marketing helps to find a way to sell the product and make it a success. Marketing knowledge allows the company to enter into different markets.

It also helps to position the company, so that people know what it offers. It is important because it allows to make use of the appropriate tools to carry out the researches.

What are the different types of Marketing? Define them in detail.

  • Internet marketing: is online marketing, companies offer information through exclusive web pages of a company, there is a more direct contact with consumers. Also makes use of different platforms to publicize its product

  • Search engine optimization: is browser optimization. The product will appear in the search engines when a product related to the company’s sector is searched for.

  • Blog marketing: are blogs created by the companies, they do not promote the product as such. They talk about topic related to the sector to get people interested

  • Social media marketing: is the use of media such as facebook or instagram, to publicize the product, but at the same time interact with the public. Every day there is an update

  • Print marketing: is the use of physical media such as newspapers or magazines

What are the aspects a marketer needs to consider nowadays?

Thain thing is to identify the target segment of a product so that they feel that it is made for them.

Another aspect is the message, the marketer must consider what he wants to convey, in what way and through what medium because if he wants to sell a product for people over 70 years old, maybe it is better to convey the message in the newspaper than on instagram.

The marketer must be aware that each segment is a completely different world and that resources and tools to be used will not be the same for all of them.

Nowadays people are more aware, they look for different things, ideas are different, so the marketer must be update on current ideologies.

What are the differences between Marketing in the past and Marketing in  the 21st century?

Marketing today makes use of more media, not only TV, but also other platforms that have a wider audience. Now to know the potential customers they make use of online surveys or through the preferences that are put in the profiles.

Today’s marketing is more specific, it identifies markets easily. Marketing in the past was more massive, market research was not well defined.

Before the interaction between company-customers did not exist, now there is interaction through social media.

Today’s marketing seeks to make customers loyal, keep them coming back, give them an experience, and give the company a good image. Marketing in the past was more focused on sales.

In the past, marketing only sold the product. Now marketing seeks to maintain a relationship with the customer.
